Rapoport says that Benjamin has dealt with this injury for much of the season, but there’s hope he’ll be able to return for their game against the Titans. However, it’s possible he’s out until after the Chargers’ Week 8 bye.
Benjamin, 28, was taken in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Browns. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.577 million rookie contract and signed on with the Chargers in 2016.
Benjamin is the third year of a four-year, $24 million contract that contains $13 million guaranteed and is set to make a base salary of $5.75 million this season and another $5.25 million in 2019.
In 2018, Benjamin has appeared in two games and caught two passes for yards receiving and one touchdown for the Chargers.
