Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times reports that Tarvaris Jackson has yet to be ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns but at this point Charlie Whitehurst figures to be in line start.
“You definitely like to have practice reps,” said Whitehurst on Thursday. “So that’s good. Like I said, we’ll see what happens and be ready when called.”
Whitehurst has taken all of the first-team reps throughout the week as Jackson continues to be hampered by an injury. Head coach Pete Carroll doesn’t seem to think that there’s a possible quarterback controversy on the horizon and has mentioned that Jackson is his starter no matter what.
We’ll have to see if Whitehurst is able to force his coach to reconsider his stance.
