Chiefs “Actively Pursuing” Long-Term Extension For WR Dwayne Bowe

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Kansas City Chiefs are “actively pursuing” a long-term agreement with WR Dwayne Bowe.

Rapoport adds that the Chiefs have already met with Bowe’s representatives with the intention of locking him.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that a source with knowledge of the situation has confirmed that the Chiefs interest in retaining Bowe.

For months now, it has seemed like a forgone conclusion that Bowe would be playing elsewhere next season, but the new regime in Kansas City appears to have him in their long-term plans.

Bowe, 28, received the Chiefs franchise tag last year, so to use the designation again this offseason they would have to be willing to pay him an additional 20 percent, which comes out to a projected $11.4 million.

We have Bowe currently listed as our No. 4 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
