Chiefs Believe WR Chris Conley Out For Season With Ruptured Achilles

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters after Sunday’s win over the Texans that they believe WR Chris Conley has a ruptured Achilles.

If tests confirm that Conley does, in fact, have a ruptured Achilles he would, obviously, be out for the season.

Conley recovered an onside kicker and replays showed something pop in his calf, which is usually a strong indication that this is an Achilles injury.

You can expect Kansas City to place Conley on injured reserve in the coming days and sign someone to their roster.

Conley, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $3.123 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the next years of the agreement.

Entering today’s game, Conley had appeared in four games and caught eight passes for 129 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Conley as the news is available.
