The NFL announced that Chiefs CB Marcus Peters has been named the 2015 Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Peters, 23, was the No. 18 overall pick during last year’s draft. He signed a four-year, $9.584 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $870,644 for the 2016 season.
In 2015, appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs and recorded 60 tackles, eight interceptions with two being returned for touchdowns, a forced fumble and 26 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 57 cornerback out of 117 qualifying players.
