Chiefs Claim C Jack Allen Off Waivers From Bears, Waive/Injured C Tejan Koroma

Field Yates reports that the Chiefs have claimed C Jack Allen off of waivers from the Bears and waived C Tejan Koroma with an injury designation.

Should Koroma clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Chiefs’ injured serve list.

Allen, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State back in 2016. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed on to the Saints’ practice squad.

New Orleans promoted Allen towards the end of the 2016 season, but he was waived with an injury designation the following year and spent the season on injured reserve. The Saints declined to tender him a contract this offseason, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The Bears signed Allen to a contract last week, but elected to waive him on Saturday.

During his college career at MSU, Allen was a 2015 first-team All-American and made 47 starts at center and guard for the Spartans.
