The Kansas City Chiefs claimed CB Brandon Jones off of waivers from the Chargers on Thursday.
San Diego waived Jones to make room for the recently signed CB Brandon Flowers.
Jones signed with the Patriots after going undrafted in 2013 out of Rutgers. He was cut before the 2013 season started however, and subsequently spent time on the Giants and Steelers practice squads. San Diego signed Jones in December 2013.
Jones is a big defensive back who supports the run well. His struggles in coverage, however, will likely require him to stand out on special teams in order make the Chiefs roster.
