Chiefs Claim OL Jordan Devey Off Waivers From 49ers, Cut OL Mike Liedtke

The Kansas City Chiefs claimed OL Jordan Devey off of waivers from the 49ers on Monday and placed OL Mike Liedtke on waivers in a corresponding move.

Devey, 28, originally signed on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis back in 2013. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed on to the Patriots’ practice squad before returning to New England on a future/reserve contract last January.

The Patriots wound up trading him to the 49ers in return for TE Asante Cleveland during the preseason.

In 2015, Devey wound up being active for 15 games last year and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 73 guard out of 81 qualifying players.

Liedtke, 24, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State back in May of last year. He wasn’t able to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed to the Chiefs practice squad.

The Chiefs elected to bring Liedtke back on a future/reserve deal in January.
