Chiefs Consider CB Brandon Carr Replaceable?

The question that’s looming for the Kansas City Chiefs is whether to franchise WR Dwayne Bowe or use the tag on CB Brandon Carr. Of the two options, Adam Teicher the Kansas City Star believes that Carr is the more replaceable player.

Considering that CB Stanford Routt is schedule to meet with the team tomorrow, the Chiefs could be using the visit to gain some leverage in their current negotiations with Carr. This year’s free agent class is pretty deep which leaves them with options at the position. Even with Bowe on the team, they could use some help at the receiver position. At this point, it would be pretty surprising to see Kansas City use their franchise tag on anyone other Bowe.

Carr, 26, should find plenty of interest on the open market if he becomes available. We have him listed as the #34 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
