Chiefs Pick Up $4M Of Cap Space By Reworking WR Rod Streater’s Contract

Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports that the Chiefs restructured the contract of WR Rod Streater in recent days and freed up $4 million in available cap space.

According to Paylor, the Chiefs reduced Streater’s cap number from $4.8 million to $810,000. Beyond that, the incentives included in Streater’s contract have gone from “likely-to-be-earned” to “not-like-to-be-earned”, which do not count against the cap.

Streater, 28, wound up signing on with the Raiders as undrafted free agent out of Temple back in 2012. He’s spent all four of his years of his NFL career with the Raiders before signing a one-year,  $810,000 contract with $4 million in incentives.

In 2015, Streater appeared in one game and recorded a single reception for eight yards receiving and no touchdowns.
