Chiefs Place Former Track & Field Star Tautvydas Kieras On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Kansas City Chiefs officially placed LB Tautvydas Kieras on the injured reserve list Monday after he cleared waivers.

The Chiefs signed Kieras to a contract back in March after he wowed them with a workout, despite not playing any football during his college career at Mississippi State. However, Kieras was unfortunately waived with the injury designation last week.

By placing him on injured reserve, Kieras won’t count against the Chiefs’ 90-man roster until he’s officially activated.

During the workout, Kieras totaled 24 reps on the 225-pound bench press, ran a 4.69 40-yard dash, recorded a vertical leap of 35” and a broad jump of 9’8”. He measured in at 6’3” and 271 pounds.
