Chiefs Place LB Joe Mays On Short-Term IR

The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they have placed LB Joe Mays on injured reserve with the designation to return Tuesday.

Mays, 29, suffered a wrist injury a few weeks ago and there has been talk that he could be placed on short-term injured reserve in the coming days, so this isn’t all that surprising.

Kansas City signed Mays to a two-year contract back in March worth $6 million. He had spent three years in Denver before they cut him loose last year.

Mays would later catch on with the Texans where he played in 14 games and totaled 66 tackles and one sack.
