Chiefs Place WR Kenny Cook On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Kansas City Chiefs officially placed WR Kenny Cook on injured reserve Friday after he cleared waivers.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters that Cook suffered a torn quad and underwent surgery on Thursday to repair the issues, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Cook, 24, wound up signing on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Gardner-Webb back in May of last year. He was waived at the start of the season and later signed to their practice squad.

The Chiefs elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract in January. However, Kansas City waived him with the injured designation a few days ago following the injury.

Cook has yet to appear in an NFL game.
