Chiefs Placed OT Dillon Gordon On IR, Sign OL Alex Officer

The Kansas City Chiefs have placed OT Dillon Gordon on the injured reserve list and signed UDFA OL Alex Officer in a corresponding roster move, per the Associated Press.

Gordon sustained a season-ending shoulder injury on Friday, so he was expected to be moved to injured reserve.

Gordon, 24, originally signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of LSU back in 2016. Philadelphia wound up waiving him as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit and later signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.

After being cut late last season, Gordon signed on to the Chiefs’ practice squad and returned to Kansas City on a futures contract.

In 2016, Gordon appeared in one game for the Eagles.

Officer, 22, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh back in May. However, he lasted just a few weeks in Oakland before he was cut loose.

He worked out for the Bears last week but was not signed to a contract.

During his four-year college career, Officer appeared in 51 games and made 48 starts at center and guard. He was selected to play in the 2018 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
