Chiefs Plan To Extend HC Andy Reid’s Contract During Offseason

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Kansas City Chiefs will try to extend HC Andy Reid’s contract this offseason.

According to Schefter, Reid will be entering the final year of his five-year contract next season and the Chiefs would, obviously, like to prevent him from being a lame-duck head coach.

This shouldn’t come as a big surprise, considering that Reid has really stabilized the Chiefs franchise since arriving in Kansas City back in 2013.

Reid, 58, spent 14 seasons as the Eagles’ head coach before he was fired in 2013. The Chiefs quickly hired him as their head coach and he has led them to a record of Reid is 43-21 67.2 percent to go along with three playoff appearances in four years.

Under Reid, the Chiefs have yet to produce a losing season.

We’ll have more regarding a potential contract extension for Reid as the news is available.
