Chiefs Promote RB Spencer Ware To Active Roster, Sign Darrin Reaves To PS Squad

Adam Teicher of ESPN reports that the Chiefs have promoted RB Spencer Ware to their active roster to fill Jamaal Charles‘ roster spot.

Reports from yesterday said that the Chiefs were working out veteran running backs Pierre Thomas and Ben Tate, but it appears as though they prefer to go with some younger options.

Ware, 23, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2013. he spent a little over a year in Seattle before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season.

The Chiefs later signed him to a future/reserve contract in December of last year before adding him to their practice squad at the start of the regular season.

During his rookie season, Ware appeared in two games for the Seahawks and ran for 10 yards on three carries (3.3 YPC) and no touchdowns.
