Chiefs QB Brady Quinn Will Start Week 8

Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel mentioned that Brady Quinn will not have a “quick lease.”

I want him to be the starting QB without looking over his shoulder,” said Crennel, per Adam Schefter. “There’s going to be no quick hook.

Looks like Quinn could end up finishing the season as the Chiefs starter, assuming he’s able to move the ball to some degree. This news obviously comes at the dismay of Chiefs’ fans.

According to Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star, Chiefs QB Brady Quinn will start in week 8 against Oakland.

Previous reports stated that Quinn would need to clearly outshine fellow QB Matt Cassel in practice, after Quinn played an abysmal game in week 7.

It’s possible that Quinn did show enough in practice to surpass Cassel on the depth chart this week, but it’s safe to assume that a lack of confidence in Cassel sealed the deal for Quinn to step in.  It’s likely that the Chiefs will be fluid with the quarterback situation since Quinn failed to impress in his only start.
