Chiefs & Ravens Could Be Potential Trade Partners?

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports mentions that with the Chiefs being “loaded” at the safety position now that Eric Berry has returned from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, they could be a potential trade partner for a team like the Ravens.

Baltimore lost former first-round S Matt Elam to serious biceps injury, so there’s a chance they could look for upgrades in the trade market over the next few weeks.

La Canfora also notes that the Ravens could make LB Arthur Brown available for trade in return for a quarterback such as Chiefs’ backup Tyler Bray.

Beyond that, La Canfora wouldn’t be surprised at all if Kansas City wound interest from other teams looking for a backup quarterback.

As of now, the Chiefs have Ron Parker, Tyvon Branch, Husain Abdullah, Kelcie McCray and Daniel Sorensen on their roster at safety, so adding Berry to the mix would certainly given them several options at the position.

As for the Ravens, it looks like Will Hill and Kendrick Lewis are projected to be the team’s starting safeties with Chris Greenwood, Brynden Trawick, Terrence Brooks, Quinton Pointer, and Nick Perry competing for backup spots.

La Canfora’s right that Kansas City could make one of their backup quarterbacks available for trade, seeing as they currently have Alex Smith, Chase Daniel, Aaron Murray and Bray all in training camp.

We’ll have more updates about potential trade for the Chiefs and the Ravens as the news is available.
