Chiefs RB Joe McKnight Ruptures Achilles

Chiefs RB Joe McKnight ruptured his Achilles tendon during Thursday’s practice, according to B.J. Kissel of KCChiefs.com.

This will almost certainly cost McKnight the remainder of the 2014 season, which is really unfortunate given that he is coming off of a solid Week 3 performance against the Dolphins in which he caught six passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns.

Kansas City has already suffered three Achilles tears this season including Knight’s recent injury and Pro Bowl RB Jamaal Charles has been hampered by an ankle sprain.

However, Charles has been making progress in recent days and is listed as questionable for Week 4’s game.

McKnight, 26, signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs back in January. His season will likely end with one carry for three yards to go along with six receptions for 64 yards and two touchdowns. McKnight also contributed 65 kick return yards.
