Chiefs Re-Signing S Ron Parker To A Five-Year, $30M Deal

The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed S Ron Parker to five-year, $30 million contract, according to his agent Justin Turner (per Terez Paylor).

There was a ton of buzz surrounding Parker at the start of free agency with teams like the Bears, Giants, Buccaneers, Dolphins, Eagles, Falcons, and Jets all coming up as potential suitors.

However, it looks like the Chiefs wound up making him the best offer, which is somewhat surprising given the cap issues they’ve been dealing with.

Parker, 27, appeared in all 16 games last year and recorded 94 tackles, one sack, one interception, a forced fumble and 12 pass defenses for the Chiefs. Pro Football Focus has Parker rated as the No. 73 safety out of 87 qualifying players last year.
