The Kansas City Chiefs released veteran G Ben Grubbs with a failed physical designation.
Grubbs, 32, was in the second year of his four-year, $24 million contract that included $10.6 million guaranteed. He was set to make a base salary of $4.8 million for the 2016 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing will free up $1.1 million in available cap space while creating $5.2 million in dead money.
In 2015, Grubbs appeared in seven games for the Chiefs and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 31 guard out of 81 qualifying players.
