Chiefs Release S Jimmy Wilson

The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they’ve released S Jimmy Wilson on Tuesday.

Wilson, 29, is a former seventh-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract with the Dolphins before signing a two-year $4.85 million contract with the Chargers in March of last year.

However, the Chargers elected to cut Wilson in December. Wilson later signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs a month ago.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Wilson will free up $632,500 in available cap space while creating no dead money.

In 2015, appeared in 13 games for the Chargers and recorded 44 tackles, one sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses.
