Chiefs Rookie G Parker Ehinger Out For Season With Knee Injury

Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest reports that Chiefs starting left guard Parker Ehinger is out for the season with a knee injury and is expected to be placed on injured reserve.

Ehinger was rolled up from behind during the third quarter of Sunday’s game.

By placing Ehinger on injured reserve, this will create a roster spot for RB Bishop Sankey, who is being signed off of the Patriots’ practice squad.

Ehinger, 23, was taken with the No. 23 overall pick by the Chiefs in this year’s NFL Draft. He’s currently in the first year of his four-year, $2.9 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

This year, Ehinger has appeared in five games for the Chiefs and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 46 guard out of 79 qualifying players.
