Chiefs Send A “Contingent” To Work Out Texas A&M LT Luke Joeckel

Adam Caplan reports that the Chiefs are sending a “contingent” of personnel that includes head coach Andy Reid and GM John Dorsey to work out Texas A&M LT Luke Joeckel on Friday.

Caplan adds that Kansas City is also expected to hold a workout with Oklahoma LT Lane Johnson after meeting with Joeckel.

It’s by no means uncommon to see an NFL team setup a workout with top prospects, but numerous reports have indicated that they’re prepared to trade LT Branden Albert in the coming weeks. Even with Albert on their roster, they could still use another tackle, as they cut Eric Winston a little over a week ago.

The general consensus is that Joeckel will end up in Kansas City next year, but Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher has managed to work his way into the discussion in recent weeks.

We have the Chiefs taking Joeckel No. 1 overall in our recently updated 2013 NFL Mock Draft.
