The Kansas City Chiefs officially signed CB Will Redmond to their practice squad on Thursday and released OT Nick Becton from the unit.

The Chiefs’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Gehrig Dieter
  2. G Damien Mama
  3. S Leon McQuay
  4. RB George Atkinson
  5. DB Keith Reaser
  6. WR Marcus Kemp
  7. TE Orson Charles
  8. G Damien Mama
  9. WR Devin Lucien
  10. CB Will Redmond

Redmond, 23, was taken in the third round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $3.54 million contract with the 49ers and stands to make a base salary of $590,880 for the 2017 season.

Redmond wound up spending the entire 2016 on injured reserve after he suffered a torn ACL. Unfortunately, the 49ers waived Redmond with an injury designation and he was once again placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason.

San Francisco waived Redmond from injured reserve with a settlement a few weeks ago.

During his college career at Mississippi State, Redmond recorded 94 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, five interceptions, and eight pass defenses over the course of three seasons and 26 games.
