Chiefs Sign DE David King To Practice Squad, Cut LB Earl Okine

The Kansas City Chiefs signed DE David King to their practice squad on Wednesday and waived LB Earl Okine from the unit, according to Terez A. Paylor.

The Chiefs’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Frankie Hammond
  2. RB Darrin Reaves
  3. WR Seantavius Jones
  4. DT T.J. Barnes
  5. OT Joseph Cheek
  6. G Jordan Devey
  7. DB Jimmy Hall
  8. QB Joel Stave
  9. DB Terrance Mitchell
  10. DE David King

King, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Eagles back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Philadelphia before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season. After brief stints with the Bengals and Seahawks, the Chiefs claimed him off of waivers back in November of last year and later brought him back on an exclusive rights contract.

King was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad and eventually promoted to the active roster a few weeks ago. The Chiefs elected to cut him loose earlier in the week.

In 2016, King has been active for one game but has yet to record a statistic.
