Chiefs Sign K Sam Ficken

After trying out a group of free agent kickers (NFLTR) on Tuesday, Terez A. Paylor reports that the Chiefs have signed K Sam Ficken to a contract.

Chiefs K Cairo Santos is reportedly nursing an injury, which is why the team brought in another kicker today.

Ficken, 24, wound up signing on with the Jaguars last May as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State. He lasted just over a month in Jacksonville before he was waived during the first round of roster cuts.

During his college career at Penn State, Ficken converted 54 of 75 field goal attempts (72 percent) to go along with 109 of 112 extra point tries over the course of four seasons and 41 games.
