Chiefs Sign LB Dezman Moses & S Peni Vea, Cut Two

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LB Dezman Moses and S Peni Vea to contracts and placed DB Keith Lewis and LB Efe Obada on waivers.

Moses, 27, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane back in 2012. Green Bay waived Moses after a year and half, but the Chiefs wound up claiming him off waivers.

The Chiefs elected to re-sign Moses to a one-year deal last year, but he hadn’t found any reported interest before this.

In 2015, Moses appeared in 13 games for the Chiefs and recorded six tackles, no sacks and a forced fumble.

Obada, 24, signed on with the Cowboys back in April of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later added to the Cowboys’ practice squad.

Dallas unfortunately cut him loose in early March, but he caught on with the Chiefs just a few days later.

Obada has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Vea wound up going undrafted out of UNLV over a month ago, so this will be his first opportunity with an NFL team.

During his four-year college career, Vea recorded 328 tackles, 14 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, four interceptions, three forced fumbles, two recoveries and 11 pass defenses.
