Chiefs Sign OT J’Marcus Webb

Update:

————–

Veteran OT J’Marcus Webb is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Webb had visited with the Vikings and Panthers in recent days, so there was a decent amount of interest in him.

Kansas City could really use some additional depth at offensive tackle now that they lost Branden Albert during free agency. The Chiefs did come away from the draft with Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, but there is no guarantee he’ll be ready to play a meaningful role from day one.

Webb, 25, spent last season with the Vikings after some disappointing years in Chicago. The Bears used a seventh-round pick on Webb back in 2010.

Webb appeared in eight games for the Vikings, but was limited to playing just 108 snaps at right tackle.
