Chiefs Sign S Josh Shaw, Waive TE Alex Ellis

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday that they’ve signed S Josh Shaw to a contract and waived TE Alex Ellis.

Shaw, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2015. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.773 million contract and set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

The Bengals waived him with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and he later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list. Cincinnati cut him loose soon after.

In 2017, Shaw appeared in all 16 games for the Bengals and recorded 36 tackles, no sacks or interceptions and three pass defenses.
