Chiefs Sign WR Seantavius Jones & DB Akeem Davis

The Kansas City Chiefs officially signed WR Seantavius Jones and DB Akeem Davis to contract on Thursday.

Jones was among four players who were brought in for tryouts earlier in the week.

Jones, 23, signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Valdosta State back in May of last year. He was ultimately unable to make the team’s final roster coming out of the preseason, but was later signed to the team’s practice squad and was on and off of their active roster last year.

New Orleans waived him back in February, but he managed to sign on with the Eagles just a few weeks later. Unfortunately for Jones, the Eagles elected to place him on waivers in earlier April.

In 2015, Jones appeared three games, but didn’t record a single statistic.

Davis, 26, originally signed on with the Redskins back in 2014. He was on and off of Washington’s practice squad during his rookie season before being waived coming out of the preseason last year.

Davis bounced around with the Saints, Buccaneers, and Seahawks in 2015 before being claimed off of waivers by the Colts in December. Indianapolis re-signed Davis to a one-year exclusive rights contract a few months ago, but was unfortunately waived in May.

In 2015, Davis was active for six games and recorded two tackles and a forced fumble.
