Chiefs Signing CB Jamell Fleming Off Ravens Practice Squad

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that the Kansas City Chiefs are signing CB Jamell Fleming off of the Ravens practice squad.

The Ravens added Fleming to their practice squad a little over a week ago in an attempt to maintain some depth at cornerback.

The Chiefs’ defense has been hit hard with injuries and there was already some question about their depth entering the 2014 season.

Fleming, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2012. However, he lasted just a little over a year in Arizona before he was placed on waivers and later claimed by the Jaguars. Jacksonville released him as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

Last year, Fleming appeared in eight games, but didn’t record a single notable statistic.
