Chiefs Sign Supplemental Draft Prospect CB Kevin Short, Waive Kenneth Penny

Update:

The Kansas City Chiefs announced the signing of Supplemental prospect CB Kevin Short and the release of CB Kenneth Penny.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Kansas City Chiefs are signing former Kansas CB Kevin Short, who wound up going undrafted in Thursday’s Supplemental Draft.

  • According to Wilson, Short receives a standard three-year contract for an undrafted rookie.

Clemson’s Isaiah Battle was the only player out of the seven supplemental draft prospects who was selected by the Rams in the fifth-round on Thursday.

Short never played at Kansas after transferring from Fort Scott Community College. He declared academically ineligible for last season shortly after he signed on the Jayhawks and redshirting his first year with the team.

Short does offer great size at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, so he could be an intriguing player to watch during Chiefs’ training camp.
