Chiefs Suspending CB Marcus Peters For Week 14

Chiefs HC Andy Reid announced Wednesday that they’re suspending CB Marcus Peters for Week 14’s game against the Raiders.

“This was something Marcus and I discussed. I’m going to leave it at that,” Reid said, per Terez A. Paylor.

According to Ian Rapoport, Peters without pay, in part, because of leaving the field of play while the game was on.

Peters was penalized for throwing a ref’s flag into the crowd during the fourth quarter of their loss to the Jets. Peters then walked to the locker room before returning to the sideline.

Peters, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $9.584 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $1,306,288 and $1,741,932 over the next two years of the agreement.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Chiefs to pick up next year.

In 2017, Peters has appeared in 12 games and recorded 41 tackles, three interceptions, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles and five pass defenses.
