Chiefs Unlikely To Pass On Luke Joeckel With The No. 1 Pick?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweets NFL scouts believe “it’s hard to image” the Kansas City Chiefs passing on Texas A&M OT Luke Joeckel with the first selection in this year’s NFL Draft.

Joeckel has been as close to a consensus top pick as there is in the 2013 draft class. The Chiefs recently used their franchise tag on OT Branden Albert and followed that move up by cutting RT Eric Winston loose. Kansas City could move Albert to right tackle and go with the more agile Joeckel to handle the blindside.

It’s still early in the draft process to suggest anything definitive, but there are a lot of signs pointing to Joeckel being the first player off the board come April.
