Chiefs Waive TE Brandon Barden & DT Hebron Fangupo

The Kansas City Chiefs placed TE Brandon Barden and DT Hebron Fangupo on waivers Friday, according to the NFL transactions release.

Barden, 26, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt back in 2012. He lasted just a few months with the team before he was placed on waivers and later added to the Titans’ practice squad.

He played briefly for the Jaguars before joining the Chiefs in October of last year. Kansas City later signed him to a future/reserve contract at the end of the season.

Barden hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2012 season when he was playing for the Titans.

Fangupo, 29, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of BYU back in 2012. He too was released at the start of the 2012 regular season and since played for a number of NFL teams including the Seahawks, Steelers, Chiefs, and Redskins.

Kansas City brought Fangupo back on a future/reserve contract in December of last year.

Fangupo last appeared in an NFL game during the 2013 season when he was with the Steelers.
