Chiefs Will Keep OLB Tamba Hali On PUP List

Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports that theĀ Chiefs have decided to keep veteran OLB Tamba Hali on the physically-unable-to-perform list to start the season.

This means that Hali will miss the first six games of the season.

Hali recently expressed frustration with his role last year and the fact that he was limited during the team’s playoff game. However, it appears as though they’ve managed to iron out any issues.

Hali, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2006. He’s currently in the second year of his three-year, $22 million contract that includes $12 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $5.75 million over the final two years of the contract.

In 2016, Hali appeared in all 16 games and recorded 34 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
