Chiefs Work Out 14 Total Players On Tuesday, Including RBs Bryce Brown & Isaiah Pead

The Chiefs hosted 14 players on Tuesday for tryouts, which included seven runningbacks in total, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Runningbacks the Chiefs hosted include: George Atkinson, Bryce Brown, Bronson HillIsaiah Pead, Darrin Reaves, Thomas, and Tate.

With RB Jamaal Charles going down with a season-ending ACL tear, the team called up RB Spencer Ware to their active roster and signed RB Darrin Reaves to their practice squad.

It was reported on Monday that Thomas and Tate were expected to work out for Kansas City, but with the plethora of free agents that came in on Tuesday, it is apparent that the Chiefs are keeping their options open.

Brown, 24, was waived by the Bills in September after being traded to the team for a fourth-round pick, so he clearly did not live up to expectations in Buffalo. Since then, he worked out for the Patriots, Jets, and Colts, but did not receive any contract offer from those teams. Brown has yet to appear in any games this season.

In 2014, Brown played in seven games, accumulating 36 carries for 126 yards, while also having 16 receptions for 176 yards.

Pead, 25, was waived by the Rams in late September as he plummeted down their depth chart. He did not appear in 2014, as he was still recovering from a torn ACL injury he sustained the previous year.

So far this season, Pead has appeared in two games predominantly as a kick returner, gathering 63 return yards, but has also fumbled the ball once.

The Chiefs also brought in LB Jayson DiManche, DB Saalim Hakim, DB Brandon McGee, G Michael Liedtke, DE Steven Means, DE Greg Scruggs, and DE Quanterus Smith on Tuesday.

We will provide more information regarding the Chiefs and any roster transactions that occur.
