Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe Signs Contract, Ends Holdout

Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has signed his franchise tender offer this Friday morning, and will end his holdout.

Bowe is due about $9.5 million this season after the two sides failed to reach a long-term deal by the July 16 deadline. It’s unclear whether Bowe would join the Chiefs for their trip to St. Louis for a preseason game on Saturday. The team will resume practice at its facility near Arrowhead Stadium next week.

Pro Football Talk has since disputed the previous report that Dwayne Bowe has signed his franchise tender.

KMBC 9 Kansas City reports that Chiefs unsigned WR Dwayne Bowe has reached an agreement with the Chiefs, and will sign his oneyear franchise tender worth $9.5million.

Bowe had been holding out while trying to get a long-term contract. He didn’t signed a contract before the league deadline for a long-term deal expired last month.

The Chiefs have not yet confirmed that Bowe has reached an agreement with them.
