Washington Redskins TE Chris Cooley commented on his status for the first game of the season by saying that he’s confident he’ll be ready to go by then.
“I’ll be back on the practice field next week for sure.. I’m 100% confident I’ll play against the Giants,” said Cooley, per Grant Paulsen.
Cooley plans on returning to practice next week as well but the only issue is just how much playing time will get upon returning considering that backup TE Fred Davis has been a standout in Redskins camp thus far. Cooley may find that he’s going to have to share playing time with Davis instead of running with the first team offense like he has in years past.
