Washington Redskins TE Chris Cooley has been held out of the preseason because of an issue with his knee but he recently said that he’s hoping to return to the field next week.
Cooley stated that he “can’t imagine not playing” in Week 1 since he hasn’t had any setbacks in recent days.
His knee was drained a week ago and hasn’t been able to run for the last two weeks. Because Cooley choose to pass on surgery there’s a chance that his knee could become as issue at some point during the season.
Backup TE Fred Davis has looked great throughout training camp so the Redskins will most likely be cautious with Cooley until he’s ready and capable of handling the majority of snaps.
