Chris Johnson Not As Involved In Titans Passing Game This Season?

Titans running back Chris Johnson‘s 2011 year was his best year as far as receptions go. Johnson had a career-best in receptions last year with 57 catches to go along with his 663 passing yards.

However, Johnson thinks there will be a drop in his production as far as catches go.

I think I was a little bit more involved in the pass offense with Dinger (Mike Heimerdinger, former Titans Offensive Coordinator),” he said, via Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com. “But with the situation that we’ve got here, since I got here we got a lot of playmakers on this offense. So it feels good to see a couple receivers out there putting up good numbers. I feel like it’s a different situation, if there’s a lot of us contributing, a lot of us making plays, I feel like it’s not a bad thing that I probably don’t get as many catches as I usually do.

The Titans offseason talks have been about an explosive offense either ran by quarterbacks Matt Hasselbeck or Jake Locker. With offensive weapons like Kenny Britt, Jared Cook, Nate Washington, and Kendall Wright, it’s easy to see why Johnson thinks his reception could go down as there are more mouths feed in Tennessee with the addition of Wright.
