Christian Ponder Suffered A Dislocated Shoulder, Expects To Be Back Next Week

Vikings QB Christian Ponder appeared to have hurt his right or arm while diving for the end zone during Thursday’s win over the Redskins, but HC Leslie Frazier told reporters after the game that Ponder actually suffered a dislocated left shoulder.

Frazier mentioned that there is currently no timetable for Ponder’s return at this point in time, but added that he will undergo further tests on Friday.

Meanwhile, Ponder sounds pretty optimistic that he will be back in time to play in Week 11.

My expectation is to be back next week,” Ponder said. “We have a great training staff.”

The good news, of course, is that he will have 10 days to heal up and hopefully prepare for the Seattle Seahawks.

If the Minnesota elects to hold Ponder out, it will be interesting to see if they go with Matt Cassel or Josh Freeman.
