Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson Expected To Play In Week 1

Cleveland Browns GM Tom Heckert believes there is a “pretty good chance” that running back Trent Richardson will be ready to play come Week 1, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.

Heckert was speaking to Jim Donovan of WKYC. Richardson suffered a torn meniscus in the BCS Title game when Alabama defeated LSU and underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee  on August 9, the second procedure in six months for him.

Richardson was the third overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. His knee might not be 100% come Week 1 when the Browns host the Philadelphia Eagles, which could mean some touches for the team’s backup tailback, Montario Hardesty.
