Colt McCoy As The Browns Starter?

Rookie QB Colt McCoy got his firsts NFL start yesterday against one of the NFL’s top defenses and came out of it with some pretty good numbers, 25-for-33 for 281 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. McCoy got the start because of injuries to both Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace.

The Browns will now have to consider starting McCoy next Sunday against New Orleans. Wallace and Delhomme have little long-term value to the team and McCoy was drafted as a future option. The Browns could start McCoy in the coming weeks to see if he shows signs of being a long-term option that they were hoping that he was. The teams 1-5 record makes it seem more likely that McCoy gets another chance.
