Colt McCoy Understands That He May End Up Sitting Behind Brandon Weeden

Browns QB Colt McCoy seems to be realistic about the situation he finds himself in regards to Cleveland’s starting quarterback. The fact that the Browns drafted Brandon Weeden in the first round suggests that he’ll be the one under center to start the season.

There are a lot of things I can control and I’m controlling those things,” McCoy said on Friday, via KXAN.com. “The things beyond that I try to do my best to not worry about those and go out there and do what I do on the field, that’s the most important thing. Beyond that, I can’t do anything else.”

Since the draft, there’s been a consistent flow of trade rumors regarding McCoy, but there hasn’t been much of any interest from other teams. Cleveland reportedly dropped their asking price for him and even that hasn’t increased the amount of interest. That could change as the season draws closer, but there appears to be a decent chance that he’ll be the Browns backup quarterback this season.
