The Indianapolis Colts also announced the signing of QB Ryan Lindley on Tuesday.
This comes after the team signed former Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman earlier in the day to bolster their quarterback depth.
Lindley, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2012. He spent two years in Arizona before he was released and later caught on with the Chargers. Lindley actually returned to the Cardinals last year.
The Patriots signed Lindley to a one-year deal as a free agent during the preseason, but cut him loose at the start of the season.
In 2014, Lindley appeared in three games for the Cardinals and threw for 562 yards while completing 48.4 percent of his passes to go along with two touchdowns and four interceptions.
