Colts CB D’Joun Smith Returned To Practice, But Remains On Short-Term I.R.

Colts rookie CB D’Joun Smith officially returned to practice on Friday, but remains on the injured reserve list with the designation to return, according to the NFL transactions release.

Indianapolis placed Smith knee on short-term I.R. with a knee injury a few weeks into the regular season. He can’t appear in a game until Week 9, but he’ll at least be able to take part in practice for the time being.

Smith, 22, was taken in the third round of this year’s NFL draft and signed a four-year, $3.314 million contract with Indianapolis.

During the preseason, Smith recorded four tackles over the course of four games.
