Colts Cut DE Chris McCain, DE Anthony Johnson & WR Matt Hazel From IR

The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they’ve cut three players from injured reserve including WR Matt Hazel, DE Chris McCain and DE Anthony Johnson.

McCain, 26, wound up going undrafted out of California back in 2014. He’s managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first two years in the NFL and was in the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million rookie contract when he was traded from the Dolphins to the Saints.

McCain had brief stints with the Cowboys and Chargers before signing on with the Colts this past May. Unfortunately, the Colts placed him on injured reserve coming out of the preseason.

In 2017, McCain appeared in 15 games for the Chargers and recorded 20 total tackles, five sacks, and two forced fumbles.
