Colts DE Dwight Freeney In For A Limited Role Against Packers?

Phillip Wilson of the Indianapolis Star reports that Colts DE Dwight Freeney, who suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 1, could be available for Sunday’s game against the Packers, but figures to be limited to the role of a situational pass rusher.

“With those type of injuries, they kind of linger, having the high ankle,” Freeney said  “I hope to play but that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen, it’s really a day-to-day deal.”

High-ankle sprains usually take four to six weeks to heal, so this is at least a good sign for status in the weeks to come. Indianapolis has been hit hard with injuries in recent, so even having Freeney on a limited basis could help against a very questionable Packers offensive line, who has allowed 36 sacks this season.
